Today we will get started on the hands-on portion of the class - working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.



Once we have completed the exercises for Word, there will be a hands-on test covering what you learned.


We have 23 class periods left as of today. It is important that if you miss class, you check the blog for the assignment so you don't get behind.





Set up Student Data Files

We will now copy the student data files to your 'Q' network drive. This drive can be accessed from any computer on campus. This is a safe place for you to store your assignments as it cannot be accessed by anyone else.





Getting Started with Chapter 2

Chapter 2 begins on page 69 of the customized textbook.

Remember that you will open files from and save to your 'Q' drive.

Read and complete the exercises on pages 70 - 114.

1. READ the information on pages 70 - 80 to get an introduction to what you are getting ready to do.


2. Now Begin the hands-on activities on pages 81 - 86. Remember, you are opening the data files from your 'Q' drive and saving the revised files there as well.


3. Read the next section on Document Formatting on pages 87 - 95.


4. Now complete the hands-on section on pages 96 - 102.


5. Read pages 103 - 109.


6. Complete the hands-on exercises on pages 110 - 114.
